Instruments Combinator
Combinator on a Stream Deck +
Select a Combinator in the rack and the deck follows it like any instrument. The dials hold its rotaries and the keys hold its buttons.
Stream Deck + only (it needs the four dials) · Windows 10 or later · Reason 12 or later, or Reason Recon · about 20 minutes of setup, once

What the dials do#
A Combinator's panel is different in every patch, so its page is built from the patch rather than from a fixed list. The dials hold the rotaries, one row of four at a time, and the pads hold the buttons, six to a page with Next and Prev. The deck shows only the rotaries and buttons the patch wires up, and follows as you browse patches.
Press a dial to step to the next row. Hold and turn to sweep through them.
| Row | Dial 1 | Dial 2 | Dial 3 | Dial 4 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Rotary 1 | Rotary 2 | Rotary 3 | Rotary 4 |
| 2 | Rotary 5 | Rotary 6 | Rotary 7 | Rotary 8 |
| 3 | Rotary 9 | Rotary 10 | Rotary 11 | Rotary 12 |
| 4 | Rotary 13 | Rotary 14 | Rotary 15 | Rotary 16 |
| 5 | Rotary 17 | Rotary 18 | Rotary 19 | Rotary 20 |
| 6 | Rotary 21 | Rotary 22 | Rotary 23 | Rotary 24 |
| 7 | Rotary 25 | Rotary 26 | Rotary 27 | Rotary 28 |
| 8 | Rotary 29 | Rotary 30 | Rotary 31 | Rotary 32 |
Reason only gives a control surface the names Rotary 1 and Button 7. A layout gives them the names on your patch's panel, and many patches get one automatically.
The patch page#

Prev and Next step through patches, Run starts and stops the Combinator's pattern devices, and Bypass is Bypass All FX. Dial 2 browses patches and the strip shows the patch name. The full walk-through is on The Combinator.
How it follows#
Select a Combinator in the rack and the Reason Remote codec, installed during setup, tells the plugin which device has focus. The deck opens Combinator's landing page, and values go both ways: turn a dial and Combinator moves, change a control in Reason and the touch strip follows.
Which edition#
Combinator is in both editions: free in Reason Remote Lite, which follows 8 devices, and in Reason Remote ($20), which follows all 27. The pages below are the same in both.
