The Master mixer
Sixteen channel faders with meters on four dials, locked to Reason's Master Section so they work whichever instrument is selected.
The Master page turns the four dials into channel strips for Reason's main mixer. Each strip is a fader next to a stereo meter. It uses its own Reason surface, Stream Deck+ Master, on loopMIDI ports 3 and 4, locked to the Master Section. Locking is what keeps it working while an instrument stays selected. Until you lock it, this surface follows your selection like any other, and it stops being a mixer the moment you click a device. The lock is per song. See step 4 of setup.
Open it with Mix on the Document page, or with the Open Master action.

Using the channel strips#
Each dial controls four mixer channels, one at a time:

The meters show each channel's level as it plays. They turn amber from −10 dB and red at 0 dB.
Sixteen channels on four dials#

One dial shows four faders. Press the dial, or tap a channel on the strip, to choose which of the four the turn moves. The codec maps a level and a stereo meter for every channel. Meters go amber from −10 dB and red at 0 dB. You set those colours in the channel strip settings.
The main song fader is not on this page. It is Master Level on dial 1 of the Document page, which is the same channel-strip action pointed at the master output.
The Master profile also contains mute and solo pages, and further mix pages, that this landing page does not open. Mix lands on the page drawn above, and its only key is Back, so those other pages are not part of normal use. This guide describes the channel strips you can reach from Mix.
Holding the strip#
Holding the touch strip on an instrument opens Document, which is where transport, tempo, loop and undo live. That is the utility trip. Holding the strip on Master does not open a second mixer page. It returns straight to your instrument, skipping Document.
- Back returns to the Document landing page. That is what Return from Master does.
- Holding the touch strip returns straight to your instrument.
The seven empty keys are yours. Track Previous and Track Next are the usual things to put there. Don't add or reorder pages in this profile. See the rules.
If the faders don't move#
The Master surface must be locked to the Master Section in every song, or it follows your selection like any other surface and stops controlling the mixer. See lock the Master surface. The lock is saved per song, so set up a default song that already has it.
