# Changelog

> What changed in Reason Remote 1.4.0 and Lite 1.3.0, and which setup bundle you need with them.

Source: https://www.reasonremote.com/guide/changelog/
Applies to: Reason Remote 1.4.0, Reason Remote Lite 1.3.0

The plugin updates through the Elgato Marketplace. The Reason codec updates only when you re-run the [installer](https://www.reasonremote.com/guide/updating/). These notes are the releases this site can vouch for. Older plugin release notes are not in the public setup repo.

## Reason Remote 1.4.0 and Lite 1.3.0

Shipped together with setup bundle v1.3.0 on 24 September 2026. The bundle's own title for the codec change is "Combinator support, and a Patch dial on every instrument." On the deck, every covered instrument now **lands on the same four dials**.

- **Combinator**, in both editions. All 32 rotaries and 32 buttons, a patch page, and the deck hides controls the patch doesn't use. See [The Combinator](https://www.reasonremote.com/guide/combinator/).
- **Layouts** for those controls, including building one from the patch file. See [Combinator layouts](https://www.reasonremote.com/guide/combinator-layouts/).
- **Volume, Patch, Pitch and Mod** on the landing page of every instrument, with further banks behind each dial. Three devices swap a dial where Reason has nothing else to map: ID8 uses Sound instead of Patch, Redrum uses Steps and Resolution instead of Pitch and Mod, and Radical Piano and Radical Keys use Character instead of Mod.
- **Patch dials** need the new codec. So does following a Combinator.
- Hubs on dial-less pages can open Document with a strip hold, the same gesture as on an instrument.
- The Piano can borrow the instrument's dials. Press dial 3. See [the Piano](https://www.reasonremote.com/guide/piano/#instrument-dials-on-the-piano).

**Re-run the installer, then quit and restart Reason.** Ports and surfaces stay as they are. Without the new codec the Combinator won't follow and the Patch dials do nothing.

Lite 1.3.0's hub is two pages. Page 2 has Radical Keys and the Combinator. Lite 1.2.0 did not include the Combinator.

## Lite 1.2.0

Setup bundle v1.2.1 (31 August 2026) records this plugin release. The codec did not change.

Lite gained **Kong**, **ID8** and **Monotone**. With Europa, that is every instrument in Reason Free, plus the three it already had: SubTractor, Redrum and Radical Keys. Seven devices on one hub page, plus **Document**. The Combinator arrived in 1.3.0, above.

## Setup bundle, not the plugin

These are codec and installer releases. They are not a version number you see in the Stream Deck app. The current bundle is [v1.3.0](https://github.com/Automate-Pros/reason-remote-setup/releases/latest).

| Bundle | Date | What changed for you |
|---|---|---|
| v1.3.0 | 24 Sep 2026 | Combinator, and a Patch dial on every instrument. Re-run the installer. For plugin 1.4.0 and Lite 1.3.0. |
| v1.2.1 | 31 Aug 2026 | Same files as v1.2.0, with a README note that Lite 1.2.0 covers Reason Free. No re-run if you already had v1.2.0. |
| v1.2.0 | 31 Aug 2026 | The Windows installer creates loopMIDI ports and registers both surfaces on Reason 13 or later. ID8's preset dial stops at 35. |
| v1.1.3 | 25 Aug 2026 | The Piano can play notes. Delete and re-add the Stream Deck+ Remote surface afterwards, and leave Master Keyboard ticked. Master Section grows to 16 channels with stereo meters. SubTractor's envelopes, filters and velocity are mapped. Europa's patch dial scrolls instead of jumping. |
| v1.1.2 | 11 Aug 2026 | Codec scopes for Radical Piano, Radical Keys, both Umpfs, Humana, Klang and Pangea. More parameters for Europa, Parsec, Malström and Grain. Mute and solo report their state. |
| v1.1.1 | 28 Jul 2026 | Surface-locking instructions corrected. Fury moved into the Core profile. |
| v1.1.0 | 28 Jul 2026 | Surfaces moved from manufacturer Community to Automate Pros. Re-add both surfaces. macOS can install the codec. The plugin stays Windows-only. |
| v1.0.0 | 27 Jul 2026 | First public codec bundle. |
